Out and about on Sunday

This week I'll be playing at All Saints, Northcote.  It will have a bit of a homecoming feeling after all the incense and Latin liturgy of the last couple of weeks!

The organ music I have planned for Sunday is as follows.

Sarabande from Holberg Suite -- Edvard Grieg
Morning Mood from Peer Gynt Suite 1 -- Grieg
Solveig's Song from Peer Gynt Suite 2 -- Grieg
Prelude and Fugue in G [BWV 541] -- J.S. Bach

Et ambulans in Dominico

This Sunday I am starting a short locum where I will be playing the organ and conducting a vacation choir for High Mass at St Aloysius, Caulfield for the next three weeks.  The parish is dedicated to the Roman Rite according to the 1962 Missal, which means that this Sunday is the feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

These things take a lot of planning, so hopefully all will go well.  If you are a singer and would like to be part of the choir, then you are very welcome (please contact me to find out more).

The choir will be singing the Propers for the day, along with Mass VIII and Credo III from the Kyriale, along with the following motets:

Tollite Hostias -- Camille Saint-Saëns
Ave verum -- Edward Elgar

The organ music for the day will be as follows:

Allegro -- August Reinhard
Cantilene from Trois Pieces (Op. 29, No. 2) -- Gabriel Pierne
Scherzando from Trois Pieces (Op. 29, No. 3) -- Gabriel Pierne
