Planning for the recital on Sunday 2 June is well-advanced, and I'm hoping to post the program here shortly.
In the meantime, here's a taster of one piece.
The video above helps to explain what this is all about.
For those who don't want to watch, here's the story.
The engagement for our forthcoming recital was paired with the one we played at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo, in March. It was expected that we would repeat much of the programme from March in the June concert.
We would love to repeat our arrangement of Johann Kuhnau's Sonata on the Combat between David and Goliath. This piece ended up involving two organs, trumpet, and audience percussion, and was far-and-away the highlight of the day.
It was also reviewed very enthusiastically in the forthcoming Organ Australia.
To repeat it for the concert in Gardenvale we need to hire a chamber organ. This costs money.
Some funding has been made available, so we're nearly there, but we still need to raise $500.
This is where you can be part of this very special musical performance.
We are seeking ten donors to offer $50.00 each.
Each donor will receive four free passes to the concert, and you will be acknowledged in the concert program booklet.
Because the recital is a joint venture between Bayside City Council and the Early Arts Guild, you will also receive acknowledgement on the City Council website and through the EAG Newsletter.
