Abbott has from the outset wanted to make it a referendum on Labor’s past. His best line on Wednesday night was in his conclusion when he said whatever Rudd was now promising begged the question as to why he hadn’t already done it over the past six years.
You're right, Rudd can't go there. He's like Basil Fawlty .... "Whatever you do don't mention the war".
All Abbott has to do is ask the audience whether they want another 3 years like the last 6 years and he walks away with a draw. That is all he needs.

* rising super guarantee
* school kids bonus
* family tax benefit A/B
* pension increases
* carbon tax compensation
