The parish is keeping Sunday as Ascension, the feast that falls 40 days after Easter (so actually Thursday this week). In one of the choirs I conducted a few years ago there was a singer who used to refer to this as "shouty Sunday after the feast of thunderous Thursday," given the amount of music that calls for robust dynamics in the repertoire for the feast.
